lab superpower(s): protein mage, cell culture overlord

Caitlin McCarthy

research technician

As an authentic Massachusite, Caitlin is a never-ending fountain of information about our great city and state, especially where to find the best of every kind of food and how to survive a commute on the T. Caitlin earned her BS in Biology from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2022, before joining the Lingwood lab to study B(est) cells. Between coaxing exceptionally high, and pure, protein yields out of all our cultures and managing to keep of all of the mice in order, she keeps the lab running smoothly and aesthetically.

When she’s not expertly organizing the protein or plasmid inventories you can find her cooking, consuming books at a superhuman rate on the T, and finding niche docuseries to educate fellow lab members about. Her extensive knowledge keeps fellow lab members riveted while watching DNA dry and protein slowly elute.
