Dr. Rebecca (Becca) Ursin hails from the land of “yah hey!”, cheese, beer, puppy chow, deviled eggs, and “it wouldn’t be so cold if it weren’t for the gosh darned wind" - AKA, Wisconsin. Becca received her BS in biology and physics from DePaul University in Chicago, where she was a goalkeeper for their division I soccer team. She also holds an MS in biotechnology from Georgetown University and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Becca is an expert in exploring how and why immune responses to vaccines and viral infections differ between the biological sexes.

Becca’s hobbies/faults include being an avid Wisconsin sports fan (Badgers, Packers), spoiling her cats, traveling the world following the USWNT, sparkles and glitter, channeling her inner Beyonce, having too many house plants, and challenging anyone to a game of foosball.
